The Pistons may not have shown up against The Mavericks, but they certainly showed up to play against The Spurs Thursday night. The Spurs had the lead at first. They led by five, but the Pistons came back and scored 16 straight. At the end of the first The Pistons led 30 - 15.
The Pistons led by as many as twenty points in the second quarter, and had a seventeen point lead at half-time. They led 54 - 37. In the first half, The Spurs had zero fast break points, The Pistons shot 63%, and Tony Parker only scored 2 points.
In the third quarter, The Spurs managed to climb their way back into the game, and cut the Pistons seventeen point lead down to nine. At the end of the third The Pistons led 67 - 58.
In the fourth quarter, The Spurs then cut the Pistons nine point lead to seven. However, Flip Saunders wisely put in Lindsay Hunter who sparked a 7 - 0 run, and just like that the Pistons were up by fourteen.
The Spurs then cut The Pistons lead to twelve, but Lindsay made a steal and knocked down a shot to put The Pistons back up by fourteen. The Spurs were only able to cut The Piston lead to ten. The Pistons beat the Spurs 90 - 80.
Rasheed Wallace was excellent he had 23 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and three steals. Lindsay Hunter finished with 7 points and a steal. Rip Hamilton - 18 pts. Tayshaun Prince - 17 pts. Chauncey Billups - 13 pts; 6 assists.
