Rookie Cheikh Samb Might Not Be Going To The D-League After-all

Like I had hoped, Cheikh Samb might not be going to the D-league this season...

CHANGE OF PLANS? After rookie Cheikh Samb made a solid showing against the Lakers on Friday, there's a chance the Pistons will wait -- maybe indefinitely -- to send him to the NBA-Development League.

"I think we've talked a little bit, and I think we'll hold off for now," Saunders said. "There's no question we can throw him in the game. He has a presence. ... You're not afraid to put someone like that on the floor."

Saunders has always favored keeping Samb around. The 7-foot-1 center has been too impressive, too quickly for Saunders to want to give him up.

"I felt all along how Cheikh has played, he has really played exceptionally well," Saunders said. "His growth as a player, both physically and mentally, has been nothing short of astronomical."
