Amir Johnson And Arron Afflalo Help Pistons Beat 76ers

It was all Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton in the first quarter. In the first quarter Chauncey and Rip combined for 21 points. Chauncey had 13 points, Rip had 8. at the end of the first quarter, The Pistons led 25 - 23.

In the second quarter, it was the youngsters Amir Johnson and Arron Afflalo who came up big for The Pistons. They were part of a 12 - 2 run that put the Pistons back in the lead, and in control of the game.

The Pistons were down by four with the 76ers leading 36 - 32. First Tayshaun Prince scored cutting the 76ers lead to two (34 - 36), then Amir johnson scored tying the game 36 - 36. Then Rookie Aaron Afflalo scored giving The Pistons back the lead. The Pistons led 38 - 36.

Then it was Arron again. First he made a steal, then he knocked down a shot pushing The Pistons lead to four. The 76ers cut the Pistons four point lead to two. Tayshaun scored pushing the Pistons lead back up four. Then Arron knocked down another shot giving the Pistons a six point lead. The Pistons led 44 - 38. The Pistons led by nine at the end of the second. They led 50 - 41.

In the 3rd quarter The Pistons 12 - 2 run grew into a 24 - 7 run. They led 70 - 63 at the end of the third.

In the fourth quarter however, The Pistons offensive went cold. At one point they shot 1 for 11. The 76ers offense wasn't any better. They shot 0 for 7. Nevertheless, The Pistons got the win, snapping a three game losing streak.

Chauncey Billups had 21 points. Rip Hamilton had 19 points. Tayshaun Prince had 16 points, 3 assists and a steal. Arron Afflalo had 6 points and a steal. Amir Johnson, 5 points and a block.

The Pistons beat The 76ers 86 - 78.
